As a child, I would have hated several items that I love now

While trying to figure out how to work my new phone recently, I was struck by how excited I am to have this amazing new object.

I also thought, though, about how I when I was growing up, I never would have imagined I could be thrilled about the thought of a new phone.

Sure, phones were completely different back then, but I think elementary school Nick Claussen would be disappointed to learn that the adult version would one day be super excited over a new phone.

Simple projects often turn into epic adventures

It’s funny how a simple, small project can often lead to a larger project and then to another and another until you are somehow cutting down a tree.

This happened to me recently when I had a few days off of work and decided to cut the grass in the yard.

When you are figuring out where to go next, don’t forget to celebrate how far you have already come

A few weeks ago, I watched my son receive his college degree from the same university that I graduated from a few decades earlier.

It was a great day for him and all of the graduates, and it was fun to see so many students receive their diplomas and begin to move into the next phases of their lives.
