My Christmas list for this year includes Joy and Spider-Man

What do I want for Christmas this year?

I have been posed that question several times by family members, friends and even people I have met on the street already this holiday season.

At least that’s what I think the people on the street are thinking when they look at me. I usually thank them and tell them I don’t have time for pictures, and they seem to understand.

But while we are in the middle of the holiday season, I have been thinking a lot about what I truly want for Christmas this year, so I thought I would share my list with you today.

I have a wonderful life with a great family, amazing friends, good health and perhaps most importantly, a full head of hair. With all of that, I don’t really need much else for Christmas, so I was stumped at first by the Christmas question. Never one to turn down a gift, though, I thought long and hard about what would honestly make me happy this year, and I put together this list for you.

The most important item I want for Christmas is Joy in my home! I want to have a house that is full of laughter and Joy as we enter 2019. I’d like to wipe away any of the leftover issues from this past year and feel ready for a fresh and shiny new year.

I’d also like more Spider-Man for Christmas.

Let me explain that. In the world today, too many people want to be angry all of the time and blame each other. You see it everywhere with people just wanting to be mad and put other people down. Instead, we need more people who are more interested in lifting each other up and helping people, kind of like Spider-Man.

I know that Spider-Man isn’t real, but I’d like to see more Spider-Man in my life in the next year and even at Christmas.

I’d also like to reach more of my goals in the next year. I need to step up, kick things into gear and attain goals. I spend too much time thinking about my goals (and Spider-Man) and need to do more to reach my goals. That would be a nice Christmas gift.

Oh, and I want to spend some time reflecting on myself in the next year, and really look for areas to improve.

Another item I would like for Christmas is the ability to make my writing to stand out more. Hopefully, I can create some bold pieces that will be looked at differently and will give people something to think and smile about.

I also want to spend more time trying to understand other people instead of judging them. Hopefully I can walk a few miles in someone else’s shoes, or maybe drive a few miles in someone else’s car. Either way, I am going to need new socks, some water and snacks like doughnuts for the trip.

I’d also like the ability to see the world around me more clearly, and to better understand the news that is happening in the world, instead of just seeing a small picture of the world. I think it would help me gain a much better understanding.

Finally, I’d like to spend more time with family members and friends who live near and far away in the next year. I need to take the time to connect more with family and friends, and I would like that for Christmas and for 2019.

So basically, here is what I want for Christmas:

  • Joy dish detergent
  • Spider-Man toys, shirts or comics.
  • I want to score a goal in soccer (and not an own-goal like I had this year)
  • A new mirror
  • A new font for my blog, maybe a bold font (I honestly don’t know how to change it here)
  • New shoes and socks (especially Spider-Man socks)
  • A new water bottle
  • A new car
  • Doughnuts
  • A big screen television
  • Money to travel around the country and the world to visit family and go on fabulous vacations.
  • Did I mention Spider-Man? I really want to see that animated movie, too, along with the Spider-Man movies coming out in 2019.

So you see, it’s a simple list because I really have just about everything I already need. Oh yeah, and I need a new hairbrush.

    1. Thanks! That’s very nice of you. It’s been hard to find enough time to write recently, but I am trying. Your comment is great motivation, too! I needed that. I always enjoy your writing and your unique point of view, too. Let me know what you think of the Spider-Man movie.

  1. I wish there was an emoji for whistling through your fingers really loud. I would load this comment up. I’m one of those men who has everything too, including the hair. I had to leave the room as the poor poor pitiful Panthers were losing to freakin’ Cleveland so I wouldn’t tear it out. Definitely keep posting, we need it. Do you have Krispy Kreme where you live?

    1. Thanks Kenny! I was surprised about the Panthers, too. I don’t understand them the last few weeks, actually. And I am terrible about figuring out emogis, but that would be a good one to have. And we have Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the grocery store and at Speedway, but we don’t have a full Krispy Kreme shop here. I love those doughnuts, though, and would be all about a full Krispy Kreme business in town. Thanks sir!
