Tales of a few awkward conversations about lunch, grocery store doors and D-Gulls

One great thing about the holidays is all of the wonderful conversations you are able to have with family, friends and new acquaintances.

One not-so-great thing about the holidays, though, is all of the awkward interactions you have every year. Here are just a few of mine from the last week. Continue reading “Tales of a few awkward conversations about lunch, grocery store doors and D-Gulls”

The Mystery of the Missing Peanut Butter

As I walked into the kitchen on a dark and dreary Tuesday evening, I was greeted by the sounds of mysterious creaking and moaning.

“Is that the floorboard or my knees?” I asked myself in my best tough guy detective voice. “We don’t have time for that right now, we’ve got bigger fish to fry.”

I don’t actually know how to fry fish or understand why you would want to fry the bigger fish before the smaller fish, so I forged on with my noble quest. Continue reading “The Mystery of the Missing Peanut Butter”

A few thoughts that run through your mind during a conversation

I enjoy talking, sometimes even with other people.

Often in these conversations, though, I find myself having a separate inner dialogue involving additional topics that keep popping into my head. While the inner debates are entertaining, they can make it difficult to also concentrate on the outward conversation, which occasionally causes problems like when I get lost in the discussion or accidentally volunteer to do something

Here is an examples of how the inner conversation might proceed when I am having a discussion with a group of people: Continue reading “A few thoughts that run through your mind during a conversation”

I have been hesitant to sell the blog, but after I read delicious news last week that Apple’s stock rose past $207.04 per share, which pushed the stock value to more than $1 trillion, I feel that now may be the right time. Continue reading “Top 5 reasons Apple should buy my blog”

Job interview questions can result in some strange responses

As part of our continuing study of how people react differently to the exact same situation, we placed all of our test subjects in job interviews and asked them the following questions:

  • Can you give us an example of a time when you were faced with a challenging problem that you had to work with your colleagues to solve?
  • Why should we choose you over the other candidates for this position?

Here are their responses: Continue reading “Job interview questions can result in some strange responses”

A few items that perplex me as a parent

It is one of the great mysteries of life, and it often baffles me. Do they think the dishes get clean just from setting them in the sink? Why not just put the dishes right into the dishwasher? Do they not realize that you can decipher if the dishwasher is clean or dirty by opening it and looking inside?
