Why is the self-checkout machine at the grocery store so bossy?

I don’t like the self-checkout at the store.

I don’t mind the idea of it, but the ones at my stores often seem to cause me extra problems.

For example, the one at the local CVS is so loud that everyone in the store can hear the price of everything I purchase.

“HELLO VALUED CUSTOMER!” it screams at me when I put in my CVS number. (Fun fact, my CVS number thinks my name is Wick Claussen. Every time I receive an email from CVS it begins “Dear Wick” and it makes me laugh.)

Top 5 Tables

I appreciate a good table.

Tables are reliable, useful and, in most instances, stable. They are also incredibly underrated.

While, chairs, beds and even bars receive most of the attention, tables come to work every day and are always there for you if you want to sit down, eat a meal, play a game, do your homework or just set down the junk mail.

Is my beard really dirtier than a dog?

Lately, I keep seeing articles about how a new study has shown that dogs are actually cleaner than most men’s beards.

The study has received a lot of attention, but as someone with a beard I have several questions about it.

First of all, why did anyone do this study? I feel like someone without a beard did this study just to prove a point. Or perhaps someone who is married to a person with a beard funded the study just to get the spouse to shave. Continue reading “Is my beard really dirtier than a dog?”
